Labor Day weekend always seems to come too quickly – the days are shorter, kids are back in school and we’re all scratching our heads wondering, “Where did the summer go?” As backyard barbecues give way to Trick-or-Treating, we wanted to share a few recycling articles and links that we found particularly interesting.
Have a recycling article that you think is intriguing or informative? Share it with us in the comments section!
- We’ve mentioned that recycled plastic can be used to make a lot of different products like decks, blankets, carpet and fleece jackets – see how one company, Tulong, LLC, is doing just that: http://technorati.com/lifestyle/green/article/american-company-launches-eco-friendly-activewear/#ixzz0xRh98JCJ
- Ever wonder where your plastic goes after you put it in the recycle bin? Green EnviroTech recently announced the opening of its first recycling plant in Riverbank, Calif. The new facility is expected to open in early 2011: http://www.greenenvirotech.com/newsevents.aspx
- And finally, congratulations to Encinitas, Calif. for making plastics recycling even easier: http://thecoastnews.com/view/full_story/9275770/article-Plastic-recycling-expands-?instance=coast_more_news. We love to see more communities improving access to recycling!
Speaking of access to recycling, we have a lot of exciting events coming up this fall so be sure to check back in later this month for updates on our California partnerships and the great work ACC is doing to encourage plastic recycling in communities around the state.
